This project aimed to determine the influence of using Flashcards to improve
Writing Skills, during the first instance, the level of Writing of fourth grade students
in the English language was identified through a pre-test assessment, then, we designed
strategies that involved flashcards in the development of each of the activities, in order
to improve in its dimensions of adapting text to the communicative situation,
organizing and developing ideas coherently and cohesively, and using conventions of
written language appropriately. The research was applicative with a quantitative
approach and a pre-experimental design, with a sample of 23 students selected through
non-probabilistic sampling.
After the post-test assessment was applied, the results were analyzed using the
statistical software "Excel," revealing that in the post-test, 17% were at the beginner
level, 48% were at the proficient level, 22% achieved a successful level, and 13% of
students significantly reached the distinguished level. As a conclusion, we can say that
the strategy that was used allows students to experience learning English as a foreign
language in a dynamic way; likewise, flashcards as a didactic strategy proved effective
in strengthening Writing Skills.
