The following research project aimed to analyze that the application of
Lyrics Training as a teaching strategy strengthens the Speaking ability in fifth grade
high school students at the Juan Velasco Alvarado Institution Educative - La Jalca
Grande, 2023. Using a methodology of a quantitative approach, descriptive type,
with a pre-experimental design. The sample consisted of 19 fifth grade secondary
school students; while the data collection instrument was the evaluation rubric. Our
teaching strategy Lyrics Training, a playful tool based on singing as a motivating
entity to promote linguistic skills in English, mainly in speaking. The results
revealed a significant evolution, where initially, all the students, which corresponds
to 100% were at the Beginning level, but at the end of the study 32% of the students
reached the levels of in progress, 42% achieved and 26% Outstanding level. Finally,
it is concluded that the “Lyrics Training” strategy contributes to the strengthening
of speaking in learning the English language.
